01 / Abatement

Abatement comes first.

Asbestos, lead and mold have to come out before the walls do. We are registered with Cal/OSHA for the work (DOSH #1316), so one contractor handles the abatement and the demolition that follows.

Asbestos

Popcorn ceilings, flooring and mastic, drywall and joint compound, stucco, roofing, siding, duct insulation and transite pipe. Removed under full containment and disposed of at an approved landfill.

Lead

Lead-based paint and lead-contaminated materials in older homes and buildings, removed with lead-safe work practices before renovation or demolition.

Mold

Water-damaged drywall, framing, insulation and flooring, removed under containment so it does not spread to the rest of the building.
